At his family home in Ocean Springs, Miss., Ben saw his mother succumb to stage 4 metastatic melanoma on 25 February 2018, just after her 60th birthday. During her final days, the only thing that brought her peace was Rick Simpson oil, smuggled in from his aunt who flew from California. That day, Ben’s relationship with the cannabis plant changed from recreational to spiritual, and Ben realized that Mississippi patients deserved to have this medicine available to them.
A maritime lawyer by trade, Ben is also co-owner of Ichabod, a cannabusiness consultancy, and CEO/President of Best Cleaners Car Club, a classic car storage club outside of New Orleans.

Duran Jackson is a cannabis professional, enthusiast, and advocate. He attended Biloxi School systems and graduated, with honors, in 2007. Immediately after graduating high school, Duran served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves for 6 years, where he made the rank of Corporal. After his military service, Duran moved to Colorado Springs in 2014 to work in the quickly growing medical cannabis industry. Benefitting from a complete experiential education regarding the cultivation process, Duran started as a pot washer and worked his way up over the years to Cultivation Manager. Duran is extremely passionate in wanting to provide the best quality cannabis, and that has fueled his belief in organic and natural farming. Duran has used his specialized, natural farming practices to enter many different cannabis competitions. His results speak for themselves: four 1st place trophy belts from The Grow Off, a national cannabis competition, and two 2nd place trophies from The Dude Grows Crew Cup.
Duran moved his family back to Mississippi in 2022 to start The Hippocratic Growth with our team.
